RUNESCAPE - How does the safe log option work at Fight Caves (Jad)?

I'm at Wave 61 at the moment and I really really don't want to go straight to Jad like I did yesterday. I want to just chill and watch TV, not even worry about how i'm going to fail once again. Please answer?
