Fleas, what to do? Infested?

Ok, so my maltese is infested with them, we've never jad fleas before, we moved into an old ttrailor and i feelour house house is crawling with them, we havent much money, and we fear our puppy wiyll get tapewrom orsomething worse. thanks.
